To get more bang for your buck, start off on the sale racks which often boast the best deals. Items you probably want to avoid at thrift stores - underwear, pacifiers and other items that can compromise your health. Still haven't found what you're looking for... No one can better serve your needs than the shop employees. Instead of searching in vain, tell the attendant exactly what you're looking for. He or she may be privy to a gem that's yet to hit the shelves. Prior to making your purchase, give your finds the once over... over and over. Look for any runs, stains, rips or broken zippers. If there is no place to try on the clothing, be certain that you can return any item that doesn't fit. Call the local thrift store and find out if they're having any 1/2 price sales, bag sales or end of season sales. You'll definitely want to hit the store on a special sale day. Before wearing your new find, be sure to launder it as directed. While someone else's trash may be your treasure, their BO most certainly is not.
