Everyone has a preference for certain fragrances, like musks, florals and citrus - all common notes in the perfumes you find in department stores and drugstores. But some might want to make a more unique choice and break from all the Calvin Kleins and Estee Lauders of the fragrance world. There's definitely a market for strange fragrances that range from food, cocktails and candy to bodily functions and parts! The Demeter company lists more "flavors" than you can count, and they range from traditional florals like rose and gardenia to all-out bizarre substances like Dirt, Crayon, Play Doh, Vinyl and This Is Not a Pipe (a scent that might remind some of pipe-smoking relatives or professors of yesteryear!). Other scents that offer a nostalgic return to good times -- Swimming Pool, Snow, Laundromat or Paperback. Some of the culinary delights Demeter offers include Tomato, Gin and Tonic, Waffles and Sushi. But the fragrances that take the cake are the ones modeled after the human body...like Adolescence, a scent by Rad Hourani, a fashion designer who might want to stick to frocks.
