Then add a coat of black mascara to just the tips of lashes. This trick makes lashes look thick at the roots and long throughout. Brushing mascara through the entire length of the lash helps, too. Many women start above the lash root, which doesn't add much length and thickness. Instead, take the mascara wand and brush it back and forth at the roots as if you were brushing your front teeth. Then pull it away from the eyes and brush the length of lashes. It helps to add curl before you use mascara with an eyelash curler. Be sure the curler and your lashes are free of mascara first - residue can grab lashes and pull them out, so be careful. If lashes are really straight, you may need to curl at different lash lengths to get the desired effect. Apply mascara immediately after curling. If you get clumps as you apply, then use a clean brow brush or mascara brush to remove it. Get the eye-popping effect of long, lush lashes - even if you have to fake it!
