Sometimes we get so caught up with work that it's hard to remember to get up and stretch or go for a walk. Doing so will help minimize stress, improve your concentration and encourage you to burn a few calories in the process. When you have the opportunity, take a brisk walk for a few minutes. Of course, it's not just our weight that is affected by overuse of the computer. Performing the same actions again and again without rest can lead to Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSI) such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, tenosynovitis and thoracic outlet syndrome. Make it a point to get up and walk away from the computer every half hour. Your body, mind and eyes will thank you.
