The same can be done with paint thinner. Start with the minimal amount and continue to add to it until you get the consistency you want. With acetone, you'll want to mix it with orange oil and then add to polish. Once you've added the mixture to the polish, let it sit for 15 minutes. Test the revamped polish on nails. To make thinner, add more drops of the mixture to polish. Another quick fix is to add a few drops of acetone nail polish remover to the bottle. However, if you use this option too many times, it will inevitably ruin the polish. To prevent polish from drying out, never store it in the refrigerator. Keep polish in a cool, dry place but not the refrigerator.
