Creamy Fig
This savory and spicy fig compote has just a touch of sweetness...perfect for topping crackers, fruit breads, even bagels.
Ingredients
- 16 ounce(s) (1 lb) dried figs
- 4 ounce(s) lemon juice
- 8 ounce(s) water
- 6 teaspoon(s) (2 tbsp) sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) ground cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Trim hard stem ends off figs.
- Medium dice figs.
- Combine all ingredients in saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce to simmer.
- Simmer until liquid evaporated.
- Serve warm or cooled.
- Ready in 20 min.
