Meatballs in Sweet and Sour Sauce
Whether an entree or an appetizer, you’ll be enjoying 24 one-inch meatballs in a fantastic sweet and sour sauce in less than 1 hour!
Ingredients
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup(s) bread crumbs, dry, grated, plain
- 2 tablespoon(s) chopped onions
- 2 tablespoon(s) whole milk
- 1 pound(s) ground beef
- 5 ounce(s) water chestnuts, diced and drained
- 1 large green pepper, seeded and cut into strips
- 8 ounce(s) 1 can (8 ounces) pineapple tidbits, drained with juice saved
- 1/2 cup(s) juice, pineapple, reserved from can
- 1/2 cup(s) sugars, brown
- 1/4 cup(s) vinegar, cider
- 2 tablespoon(s) corn starch
- 1 tablespoon(s) soy sauce made from soy (tamari)
Instructions

Mix meatball ingredients down to hamburger.

Make into 24 1-inch meatballs and brown in medium skillet.

Heat Sauce ingredients in medium saucepan.

Cook and stir over low heat until thickened and bubbly.

Stir in cooked meatballs, pineapple tidbits, water chestnuts, and green pepper.

Heat to boiling.

Serve with cooked rice.
