  • 2 to 3 large potatoes, sliced
  • 2 to 3 carrots, sliced
  • 1 to 2 small onions, sliced

  • 48 ounce(s) roast beef (3 lbs)
  • 4 ounce(s) water

Instructions

 

  • Simmer onion until tender in 2 tablespoons water in heavy, deep skillet.
  • Add roast to skillet; brown on sides.
  • Combine beef bouillon cube with 2 cups hot water; stir until dissolved.
  • Combine orange juice, allspice, pepper, and beef broth.
  • Pour over meat.
  • Cover and simmer, about 2 hours.
