Low-Sodium Chili

Dinner is so much easier when you just chill out! Prepare yourself for the ultimate chili experience. It's perfectly palatable when served pipin' hot. Use oyster crackers to sop up the broth.


Low-Sodium Chili

Ingredients

For 4 people

  • 8 ounce(s) ground lean buffalo or sirloin
  • 1 cup(s) chopped onions
  • 1 cup(s) low-salt tomato sauce
  • 2 cup(s) very low sodium beef broth (canned or dry substitute)
  • 12 tablespoon(s) low-salt tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoon(s) chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cumin
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Brown sugar, to taste (optional)
  • 3 3/4 cup(s) dark red kidney beans, undrained

Directions

Cook beef, onion and green peppers over medium heat until beef is well done and onion and peppers are soft. Strain all and run under hot water until beef loses oily feel when touched. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer. Adjust seasonings to taste.
