Tuna Tartare

Ingredients

  

  • 1 4-oz. tuna filet, minced
  • 2 green onions, minced
  • 1/8 cup(s) pine nuts, chopped fine
  • 333/1000 ounce(s) roe (or roes) of choice
  • 333/1000 tablespoon(s) black caviar
  • 333/1000 tablespoon(s) Thai chili paste, thinned with water
  • 1 tablespoon(s) mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon(s) molasses
  • 1/2 avocado, sliced thin, divided

Instructions

 

  • 1)-Mix tuna, green onion and pine nuts.
  • 2)-Place half the tuna mixture in a cylindrical mold, then half the avocado slices, then the remaining tuna mixture.
  • Press down to seat firmly in mold.
  • 3)-Remove the mold and top tower with roes and caviar.
  • 4)-Stripe empty area of plate with chili paste, mayonnaise and molasses; run a chopstick through the stripes to create ribbon design.
  • 5)-Garnish with remaining avocado slices.
  • You can use a small tomato paste can with both ends removed for the mold.
