Tomato Pickles Dill Green Tomatoes

Nothing beats the taste of homemade foods and these pickles are no exception. Plan ahead when thinking about having these pickled tomatoes. They will take four to six weeks before they are ready to eat. These also make great gifts for any occasion.

Ingredients

  

  • 1 Green tomatoes (per jar)
  • 1 Stalk celery (per jar)
  • 1 sweet pepper (per jar)
  • 1 garlic clove (per jar)
  • 1/2 gallon(s) water
  • 1/4 gallon(s) vinegar
  • 1 cup(s) salt
  • 1 dash(es) dill

Instructions

 

  • Use firm, small green tomatoes, pack into sterilized Kerr jars, add to each quart jar a bud of garlic, 1 stalk of celery and 1 green pepper, cut into fourths.
  • Make a brine of the water.
  • Vinegar and salt and boil with the dill for 5 minutes.
  • Pour the hot brine over the pickles in the jars and seal at once.
