
Tangy Green Beans & Bacon
Bring home the bacon... and the beans. Adding a couple of slices of bacon to green beans gives this dish a mean and tasty punch. Serve it alongside your favorite mealtime staples.
Ingredients
- 907 9/50 grams green beans (2 lbs.)
- 2 bacon slices
- 4 tablespoon(s) minced shallots
- 19/100 cup(s) coarsley chopped almonds
- 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
- 4 tablespoon(s) balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Cook green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes.
- Drain and rinse under cold water.
- Drain well; set aside.
- Cook bacon in a small skillet over medium-high heat until crisp.
- Remove bacon from skillet.
- Crumble and set aside.
- Add shallots to bacon fat in skillet; saute 1 minute.
- Add almonds and saute 1 minute.
- Remove and let cool.
- Add sugar and vinegar; stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add crumbled bacon.
- Pour vinaigrette over beans, tossing gently to coat.
- Ready in 20 min.
