Spaghetti with Sausage
Spaghetti is one of those dishes with which you can't go wrong. This recipe is definitely the missing link when it comes to a mouth-watering spaghetti dinner. Prepared with sausage, it's sure to satisfy your family sans the usual complaints.
Ingredients
- 32 ounce(s) Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 28 ounce(s) can diced tomatoes
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 3 3/4 cup(s) cans tomato sauce
- 16 floz water
- 1 Fresh basil
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon(s) salt
- 3/4 teaspoon(s) crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) fresh coarse ground black pepper
- 2 floz red wine
- 16 ounce(s) thin spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon(s) Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Place sausage in skillet and cover in water.
- Simmer 10 minutes and drain.
- Meanwhile place remaining ingredients in crock-pot and add drained sausage and cover; cook on low 4 hours.
- Increase to high; cook 1 hour more.
- Cut sausage in bite-size slices and serve over cooked spaghetti.
- Sprinkle with more Parmesan.
- Ready in 5 hours.
