Simple Cookies

In many cases, “simple” is the best. Stick to this recipe and you will appreciate how great a basic cookie recipe can be. “C” is for cookie, and that’s good enough for me.

Ingredients

  

  • 1/4 pound(s) butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup(s) sugars, granulated
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) cake flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) evaporated milk

Instructions

 

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Cream together butter and sugar, beating well.
  • Stir in egg yolk and vanilla.
  • Mix together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Gradually stir into other ingredients until combined.
  • Load into a cookie press.
  • Press cookies out onto an ungreased cookie sheet with 2 inches between each cookie to allow for spreading.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden around edges.
  • Ready in 30 min.
