Rum Chili

It's no rum do how great this dish taste! The title says it all --  this beefy recipe is quite delicious! The rum lends some great flavors to this dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon(s) salad oil
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 48 ounce(s) coarsely ground chuck
  • 2 tablespoon(s) chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 4 floz dark rum
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 6 cup(s) cans drained kidney beans ( 3 cans)

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in an 8-quart pot.
  • Lightly saut onion and garlic.
  • Add meat, breaking up and stirring with wooden spoon until color changes.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Cover and simmer 2 hours, stirring now and then.
  • Check for seasoning.
