
Red Wine and Potatoes
What starts out as a simple potato dish can be dressed up by tossing in a handful of fresh vegetables and a batch of beef. The red wine lends an incredible flavor to an otherwise basic side dish.
Ingredients
- 12 scrubbed red potatoes (10-12 potatoes)
- 1 teaspoon(s) minced garlic (0.5-1 tsp.)
- 16 floz red wine
Instructions
- Halve or quarter scrubbed red potatoes; brown in small amount of oil on all sides.
- Add minced garlic toward end of browning so as not to scorch.
- Add 2 cups red wine and cover immediately.
- Cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender.
- Watch that wine doesn't cook all away.
- Serve with remaining wine sauce.
- Ready in 40 min.
