Independence Day Salad
This scrumptious seven-layer salad is easy on the eyes and pleasing on the palate. You can rotate in your favorite veggies to modify, or take this crowd-pleaser to your next holiday picnic.
Ingredients
- 1 head lettuce, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, sliced diagonally
- 1/4 medium purple onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup(s) sour cream
- 1/2 cup(s) sugars
- 1/2 cup(s) mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoon(s) vinegar (I use apple cider)
- 8 ounce(s) bacon, cooked and crumbled (or use bacon bits)
- 1 cup(s) Parmesan cheese (or to your liking)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, preferably glass, begin to layer ingredients as follows:.
- Layer 1 - LettuceLayer 2 - CeleryLayer 3 - Purple OnionLayer 4 - Combine sour cream and sugar and pour over saladLayer 5 - Combine mayonnaise and vinegar and pour on top.
- Layer 6 - Sprinkle Parmesan cheeseLayer 7 - Sprinkle bacon.
