
Hummus
Traditional Middle Eastern fare has made its way over to America. Prepared with garbanzo beans, or chickpeas, this delicious hummus dip makes for a great healthy snack or appetizer. One thing about this starter is that you’ll have absolutely no problem finishing it.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cup(s) canned garbanzo beans, rinsed
- 1 1/2 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon(s) cumin
- 1 1/2 tablespoon(s) fresh parsley
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) salt, to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) pepper, to tatse
Instructions

Place garlic and parsley in a food processor, and chop fine.

Add garbanzo beans, salt, pepper, cumin and lemon juice and process until smooth.

Use bean liquid to thin if necessary.

Serve with baked tortillas, vegetables or toasted pita bread.

Add a little water if mixture is too thick.
