
Hot Stuffed Dates
Make it a hot date tonight. These Gorgonzola-filled dates are coated with bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese and then tumbled in Italian ham. One taste of this date, and everyone will be asking for your number.
Ingredients
- 18 pitted medjool dates, split
- 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 6 ounce(s) gorgonzola cheese
- 1 cup(s) seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 cup(s) parmesan reggiano cheese, grated
- 6 ounce(s) gorgonzola cheese
- 1/2 pound(s) Italian ham, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven 400 degrees.
- Using 1 tbsp olive oil, rub each date to coat.
- Next gently open each date without breaking the spilt.
- Set aside.
- In a medium size bowl combine 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs with 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese; stir together and set aside.
- On a cutting board, lay out Italian ham slices.
- Add to date center 1-1 1/2 tbs of Gorgonzola cheese.
- Gently press the date back together and roll Gorgonzola stuffed date in breadcrumb mixture.
- Dates will grab a bit of crumb mixture.
- Wrap each date with a piece of Italian ham.
- Set on parchment lined cookie sheet.
- Repeat until finished, and then bake.
- Cooking time 10-12 minutes.
