
Flour-Power Frosting
This rich and creamy dessert topping is not for those who are watching their waistlines or counting their calories - but as an occassional treat, nothing frosts your baked goods in a more delicious way.
Ingredients
- 1 cup(s) milk
- 4 tablespoon(s) flour
- 1/2 cup(s) butter
- 1/2 cup(s) Crisco shortening
- 1 cup(s) confectioners' sugar
- 2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine milk and flour in a small saucepan (use a whisk).
- Heat and stir until thick and smooth and cool.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat shortening and butter well then add sugar and vanilla extract, beating until fluffy, 4 minutes.
- Continue beating while adding flour mixture and remove any lump.
- Beat until fluffy, 4 minutes or more.
