
Best Dutch Meatballs
Go Dutch tonight with these magnificent meatballs. The added seasonings make them different from traditional meatballs. Serve them solo as an appetizer or enjoy them as a main meal along with your favorite side dish. They always make for a memorable meal.
Ingredients
- 8 ounce(s) lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 2 slices white bread, crusts removed
- 1 small onion, minced
- 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) curry powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) mace, ground
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper, ground
- 3 tablespoon(s) butter
- 4 floz water
- 1/50 tablespoon(s) Ketjap manis
Instructions

Mix the meat with the egg, bread, onion, salt and spices and form 4-5 meatballs.

Chill for about 30 minutes.

Heat the butter and brown the meatballs for about 15 minutes, turning them a couple of times.

Reduce the heat to simmer and cook the meatballs for another 15 minutes, turning a few times.

Remove the meatballs, add the water or beef stock and bring to a “high” heat.

Add a little ketjap manis or Maggi seasoning to the mixture and you will have a lovely gravy to serve with the meatballs.

Ready in 1 hour and 15 min.
