Beer-Battered Vegetables

Onions aren’t the only veggie that tastes great fried. Batter up this vegetable medley, or get creative with your own bite sized, beer battered morsels.

Ingredients

  

  • 2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
  • 1 can or bottle of beer (1.5 cups)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup(s) milk
  • 1 dash(es) salt, to taste
  • 1 dash(es) pepper, to taste
  • 2 cup(s) vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 Broccoli or Cauliflower floret, cut into bite sizes
  • 1 Onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 carrot, cut into thick strips
  • 1 Green bell pepper, sliced in rings
  • 1 Fresh mushrooms, stems removed

Instructions

 

  • In a medium bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour and beer with a wooden spoon; let stand for at least 3 hours at room temperature.
  • Combine eggs and milk in a small bowl.
  • Using a separate bowl, mix together 1/2 C.
  • flour and salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil to 375 degrees F.
  • Dip every vegetable in the egg and milk mixture.
  • Next dip the vegetable into the flour and seasoning mixture, finally dip the vegetable in the beer and flour mixture.
  • Place the vegetables into the oil and fry until golden brown.
