Strawberry Salad

Have we got a berry good salad for you! No need to draw straws, only strawberries. Combine romaine and spinach for a super salad that won’t leaf you high and dry. It’s the perfect way to start or finish a summer meal.

Ingredients

  

  • 1 head romaine lettuce – rinsed, dried, and chopped
  • 2 bunches fresh spinach – chopped, washed and dried
  • 2 cup(s) fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 Bermuda onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup(s) mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon(s) white wine vinegar
  • 333/1000 cup(s) white sugar
  • 1/4 cup(s) milk
  • 2 tablespoon(s) poppy seeds

Instructions

 

  • Dissolve Jello into boiling water per package directions.
  • Add frozen strawberries and stir until they are thawed and the mixture begins to thicken.
  • Add mashed bananas and pineapple.
  • Pour half the mixture into a 9 x 13 pan.
  • Chill in refrigerator until firm.
  • Spread sour cream over the top.
  • Add remaining Jello mixture and chill until firm.
  • Ready in 3 hours.
