Holiday Egg Casserole
We’ve taken a traditional egg casserole and used healthier ingredients to make this a diet-friendly dish. Now your stomach has two reasons to thank you!
Ingredients
- 16 3/5 ounce(s) loaf of organic honey oat bread, cubed
- 5 spicy Italian turkey sausage links, browned
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cup(s) low-fat cheddar cheese, shredded
- 18 egg whites
- 2 cup(s) 2% low-fat milk
- 1 teaspoon(s) mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/8 teaspoon(s) pepper
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cube the bread and lay in 8×12 glass Pyrex.

Brown the sausage (out of the casing) and layer on top of bread.

Next layer the onion and then the cheese.

Whisk together the eggs, milk, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.

Pour over the layers of bread, sausage, onions, and cheese.

Bake in oven for 50 minutes.

Ready in 1 hour.
