
Blueberry & Buttermilk Sherbet
When the summer heat has you hiding indoors, this sweet summer treat will cool you off and give you a boost of energy. Blueberries and buttermilk combine with notes of vanilla and lemon to create a fabulous frozen concoction.
Ingredients
- 2 cup(s) fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
- 2 cup(s) buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
- 1 ounce(s) blueberries, for garnish
- 1 lemon rind strips, for garnish
Instructions

Process blueberries in a blender until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides.

Press blueberry puree through a fine wire-mesh strainer into a large bowl, discarding solids.

Add sugar, buttermilk and vanilla extract to bowl, and stir until well blended.

Pour blueberry mixture into freezer container of a 4-quart ice cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Garnish and serve.
