Gingery Asparagus

This Asian-inspired side blends the flavors of sesame oil and ginger with asparagus for a healthy side that is full of fiber, folate, and vitamins A, C, E and K.

  • 30 to 35 spears of fresh asparagus, trimmed (1.5 pounds)
  • 2 teaspoon(s) vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon(s) minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon(s) sesame oil

Instructions
 

  • Saute asparagus in 2 tbs hot oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet 7 minutes.
  • Add ginger, and saute 1 minute.
  • Stir in sugar and remaining ingredients, and cook 1 minute.
  • Ready in 15 min.
