Chicken Caesar Sandwiches

All hail Caesar! While most of us traditionally enjoy the Caesar taste in a salad, this tasty sandwich offers up an equally appetizing alternative with even less calories and fat.

Ingredients
  

  • 16 ounce(s) 4 medium skinless (1 pound), boneless chicken breast halves
  • 4 ounce(s) bottled fat-free, low-calorie or regular Caesar salad dressing
  • 2 teaspoon(s) olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split
  • 4 large leaves romaine lettuce
  • 1/4 cup(s) finely shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 dash(es) freshly ground pepper

Instructions
 

  • Grill chicken on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 12 to 15 minutes or until chicken is tender and no longer pink, turning once and brushing with 1/4 cup of the salad dressing the last 5 minutes of grilling.
  • Meanwhile, stir together olive oil and garlic.
  • Using a pastry brush, brush oil mixture over cut sides of buns.
  • Toast on grill or face up in broiler To assemble, place chicken on bun bottoms.
  • Top with romaine, drizzle with the remaining salad dressing, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and fresh ground black pepper.
  • Add bun tops and serves immediately.
