3-Hour Chicken Soup

Chicken is always worth the work; however, you won't have to spend 3 hours next to the stove!

Ingredients
  

  • 8 cup(s) chicken, stewing, meat only, cubed
  • 14 cup(s) water
  • 1 tablespoon(s) salt
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 parsley root
  • 2 onions, raw, diced
  • 3 parsley sprigs
  • 3 dill sprigs

Instructions
 

  • Clean chicken thoroughly.
  • Combine in a deep saucepan with the water and onions.
  • Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Cover and cook over low heat 1 hour longer, or until chicken is tender.
  • Remove chicken and strain soup.
  • Ready in 3 hours.
