These easy chocolate pastries will take the cake at your next holiday gathering. They are moist on the inside with a brownie-like top that will be sure to melt in your mouth.
For 12 people
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Line or grease bottoms of 12 muffin cups. In medium bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and chocolate chips. Stir in egg, milk and oil just until dry ingredients are moistened. (Batter will be lumpy.) Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling 2/3 full. In small bowl combine topping. Sprinkle evenly over muffins. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Loosen and remove immediately from pan.
