Ingredients

  • 8 ounce(s) flat iron steak
  • 1/2 small onion, rough chop
  • 1 tablespoon(s) cognac
  • 2 tablespoon(s) beef base
  • 1 teaspoon(s) butter
  • 1 dash(es) salt
  • 1 dash(es) pepper

Directions

Season steak with salt and pepper. Grill to preferred doneness. For the sauce, sauté chopped onions until translucent. Deglaze with cognac. Add beef base; reduce by 1/3. Add butter. Add salt and pepper to taste. Ladle sauce on plate; top with steak.
