The verdict on sugary sodas is similar, and diet sodas don't seem to be much better. Some research says diet sodas can increase dieters' cravings for sweets, so they're best left alone. The jury's out on juices - they can pack a ton of sugar in just a small serving, and the same goes for smoothies. Examine ingredients and calorie counts carefully when imbibing in these beverages. Need some juice and a serving of veggies to boot? Try vegetable juice - it has about half the calories of fruit juice and packs even more nutrition. Happy skinny sipping!
