Little Ways to Look Polished

It's the little things that make us shine throughout the day. So don't let the details pass you by when it comes to looking polished and pretty, even when you're not all that worried about how you look. When you have the little things taken care of, then it contributes to a natural, stylish look. Start with your hair. Deep condition it once a week to control frizz and help with shine. Nothing makes casually styled hair look better than great shine. Get regular haircuts to control split ends, and if you color, use a shampoo and conditioner formulated for colored hair. Move down to your eyebrows - are they unkempt? Sporting a monobrow? Regardless of how you do your eye makeup, there's no way to cover bad brows. But that doesn't mean plucking them within an inch of their lives. In fact, the trend is leaning toward thicker brows - which means less maintenance. Simply pluck the strays in the middle and be sure they have a good shape and arch. Use a good brow gel or simply a dab of Vaseline on a clean mascara wand to add a little gloss. When it comes to taking care of your skin, many women exclude two important steps: moisturizing and exfoliating.

While you only need to exfoliate once or twice a week, it makes a big difference in making your skin look more vibrant and alive. Moisturizer makes more of a long-term difference, but it also keeps acne-prone skin from working overtime to produce oils. Got some time on your hands? Then put some lotion on them. Many women neglect the skin on their hands, particularly cuticles, where a dab of cuticle oil at night can come in handy when it comes to preventing hangnails and unhealthy, brittle nails. Finally, if you love wearing slingbacks, sandals or flip-flops, it's important to take care of the rough, dry skin that feet are prone to. You don't need a full-on pedicure for feet to look nice in shoes that show them off. Simply invest in a pumice stone and give feet a few passes, paying particular attention to the heels, after a shower. Then at night, slather on some heavy-duty moisturizer - Vaseline is a favorite of the Kardashian sisters! - and sleep with thick socks on. Feet will be luxuriously soft in the morning. The devil is in the details, so be sure to pay attention when it comes to your beauty regimen!
