Fall for Dry, Flaky Skin Solutions

As days get shorter and it becomes time for the clocks to fall back, you may notice a change in your skin. Cooler, less humid weather, coupled with fall wind, can take a toll on your complexion, particularly if you tend to have dry or sensitive skin. When there's less moisture in the air, it shows on your skin, so keep it hydrated from the inside out by drinking lots of water and cutting back on salt. Be sure to moisturize as much as you can - look for noncomedogenic creams with alpha hydroxy acids, which slough off dead skin and reveal new, fresh skin underneath. And if none of that works, sleep with a humidifier on to add moisture back into the air. If you find that tan is fading, leaving your skin sallow and tired-looking, why not try a bronzer or gradual self-tanner for the face?

We're not talking Jersey Shore tan, just a nice, light glow that'll help add a little color to your complexion. And if you want to go natural, get a flush the old-fashioned way by taking regular walks or exercising regularly. Exercise will boost blood flow and help circulation in your face. Prop your head up at night when you sleep - use a pillow so that blood and fluid don't collect under your eyes, resulting in puffy, dark circles. Slather on plenty of hand cream and protect nails with a nail strengthener. Nails are prone to breakage and hangnails due to lack of moisture in the winter, so be sure to take care of your hands as well.
