10 Shoe Styles to Kick to the Curb

To all the people saying that it should be "kerb"... The word in American English is "curb". In much of the rest of the world it's "kerb". Neither one is incorrect. It's like the difference between "tire" and "tyre" and many other words.

I do agree that this article is muddling up style and comfort. I don't think super high heels will ever go out of style. They just look too good. Sure they would do damage if you wore them too long and too often, but that's what common sense and foot rubs are for. Votes: +3

Too bad, so sad. My Birks keep my feet pretty and pain free. I call them my healing shoes...because after a long work day of wearing "cute acceptable" footwear, I need something that is good for my arches, knees, hips, back.... Anyone who'd judge me, walking home in my pencil skirt and kicky sweater set while wearing my Birks and carrying my heels needs a life more than I do. Votes: +7

No, we shouldn't kick out stilettos, flats, or flip-flops. Yes, we should use them in moderation, but not kick out completely. Besides, you don't leave very many cute, healthy, affordable, or comfortable shoes. But hey, if you can find flats with support, more power to ya. Votes: +4

It's sooo gratifying to note that most of the feedback for this "piece" was negative. Was this written with the goal of alienating your entire audience? If so it was masterfully done! The problem with it is most shoes are designed either to make your feet feel like they're in heaven, or to look cute. Women will often favor the former or the later, depending on their values and personality. This blog took it's arguments from both sides of the great shoe debate, leaving the reader feeling confused, and hopeless of ever again finding suitable footwear. (I personally think we should all switch to moccasins. They're cute and comfy! If your a real stickler, I'm sure you could find some arch supports to "fix" them.) Back to my point: the "It's hideously ugly" argument will earn you hate from the comfy-shoes-lovers and on the flip side the "it will wreck your poor tootsies" argument won't go over well with the stylish-if-it-kills-me-crowd. And as for "Vegan" shoes... I don't care what it looks like, shoes should never end up on the dinner table. Votes: +3

This is the dumbest article I have ever read. I'm pretty sure almost every shoe on the planet falls into one of the categories the "author" has listed. Like the other commenter said, I am going to wear socks and sandals saying that mydailymoment.com said it was cool. Votes: +1

Gladiators do NOT belong on this list. Like everything, some of them are a bit much, but mine are AB-FAB! They are comfortable with a back zip, the look great on, and I LOVE them! Votes: +1

Screw this list. I own every type of shoe mentioned on the list. The author is underestimating the common sense in people. Clearly shoes with no arch support aren't meant to run a marathon in.....but they sure can look cute with your outfit for a few hours. ;) Votes: +1

Dumb article. First of all, feet don't need arch supports. People walked with flat soles - or barefoot - for millenia, and it never hurt them. Second, kids can handle heels and platforms because they don't weigh much. There's no stress on their feet. It's adults and older women who have trouble with elevated heels. Third, flip flops let your feet air out so you don't get as much foot fungus. People wear shoes way too much of the time. Votes: +1
