Making a picture-perfect pedicure last is never an easy feat, especially when you're forking out top dollar. While some women can make those salon treatments last between three to four weeks, others are lucky if they make it an hour. The good news is that there are some tried-and-true techniques for protecting that pedi whether it's done at a salon or in the comfort of your own home. The first step is to proper care of your pedicure. Watch where you're walking. Take care not to bump, break or brush against anything that will ruin your pedicure. To avoid smudging your freshly painted pedi, avoid wearing closed-toed shoes and socks for a couple of days. This will also help eliminate the rubbing the can chip polish. If your polish is looking dull after a couple of weeks, apply a top coat. Many women bring their own polish to get a pedicure.
