It’s spicy, filling and healthy, and you’ll enjoy it even more the second day.
Ingredients
5 cups stock (ham or chicken)
1 cup lentils
2 large carrots, skin on, diced
2 celery spears, diced
1 onion, diced
2 cups chopped leftover ham
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt, to taste
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper, or to taste (or substitute cracked black pepper)
1 tbsp. cornstarch mixed in 1/4 cup cool water
Methods/steps
Put all ingredients except cornstarch in slow cooker in morning, turn on medium and forget about it until suppertime. 30 minutes before serving add cornstarch/water mixture to pot and stir.
