Guacamole is great for parties served with tortilla chips, veggies, or can be used as a sandwich spread. The sour cream in this recipe helps keep your guac green.
At a glance
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup finely chopped sweet white onion
Juice of one lime
2 ripe avocados
salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp. sour cream
2 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
Marinate the garlic and onion in lime juice for 10 minutes. Add avocados and mash with a fork until texture is medium-smooth. You may also use a pastry blender. Mix in sour cream, cilantro, and salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
For a raw and vegan option, just leave out the sour cream. Plain yogurt can also be used in place of sour cream.
