Chutney is a staple in Indian cuisine. You'll be hard-pressed to find a homemade chutney recipe that satisfies your hankering for Indian more than this one. One bite and you'll be in more of a hurry for this gourmet curry flavor.
At a glance
6 oz. softened cream cheese
1/4 lb. or 1 cup of sharp natural Cheddar cheese (shredded)
2 tbsp. of dry sherry
3/4 tsp. of curry powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash red hot pepper sauce (Tabasco)
1/2 cup of finely chopped mango chutney
3 or 4 green onions, sliced with part of the stem
1 pkg. of crackers
Add in a blender cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, sherry, salt, curry powder and Tabasco and mix. Spread in a disc on serving platter 1/2 inch thick or place in mold of your choice. Chill 2 hours. At serving time, spread the chutney on top. Then sprinkle with green onion slices. Surround with crackers.
