They say it's the happiest place in the world, and surely it makes for a great family vacation. But before you don the mouse ears and take off, there are a few tips and tricks to get the most out of your Disney vacation. First, consider the age of your kids. Are they old enough to appreciate the trip and enjoy rides, characters and everything else the parks have to offer? Many seasoned Disney-goers say there's no wrong age to begin bringing kids to Disney. Most attractions are free for kids age 2 and under, so cost isn't a factor in bringing the little ones. Being of an age to "remember" their first trip to Disney may be a factor, but wait until kids are older - 7 or 8 years old - and you risk them not believing in the "magic" of the parks. Consider whether your kids might be frightened of the characters - a good way to get them to warm up to Mickey and company might be to start with the "face" characters, such as the princesses. If you'll be staying for several days, then it might be a good idea to save the Magic Kingdom for the last few days.
