Lite Summer Lunches Kids Will Love
Ah, the lazy days of summer. Unlike the rest of the year, the rules change come summertime, especially when it comes to meals. If you haven't already, it's time to put those canned soups and raviolis and on the backburner in favor of some lighter fare. Take a vacation from the same old lunches that bring the doldrums. As the temperatures get hotter, make those kid lunches even cooler. Here are some great healthy lunch options to keep things interesting for your little ones. If you're at home, why not throw together a fruit smoothie. Mix berries, bananas, apple juice and low-fat yogurt together for a refreshing sweet treat. If Lunchables are a hit in your house, why not make your own? Bento boxes are all the latest rage and provide a little bit of everything. Keep your kids on their toes with carrot sticks, broccoli, celery and ranch dip in a container, along with cut up fresh fruit and luncheon meat roll ups.
