Spiced Green Beans

All green beans are not created equal. When it comes to a spicy side that's chock full of flavor, veg out with this tongue-tantalizing dish that's both healthy and hearty. 


Spiced Green Beans

Ingredients

For 4 people

  • 453 2/3 grams fresh green beans, trimmed and snapped (1 lb.)
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 4 ounce(s) water
  • 1 tablespoon(s) vegetable oil
  • 1/3 tablespoon(s) ground allspice
  • 1 dash(es) salt, to taste
  • 1 dash(es) pepper to taste

Directions

Heat vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir garlic until lightly browned. Add in green beans and water, and bring to a boil. Mix in allspice, salt, and pepper. Cover, and simmer 20 minutes, until green beans are soft.
