Catherine's Creamy Cocoa
Topped with half and half cream, this hot cocoa will warm you up on cold, wintery days. Have with a biscotti!
Ingredients
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
Methods/steps
1. Combine the cocoa, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an low boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes.
2. Stir in milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Place in 4 mugs. Add the cream to the cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.
