Perfect Fudge Brownies

Want to score big time brownie points? Well, be prepared to receive a perfect 10 in the delicious category. Play with the ingredients as you like to achieve the desired consistency of these brownies. For an added punch, add walnuts, pecans, macadamia nuts, raisins, chocolate or peanut butter chips just before baking.


Perfect Fudge Brownies

Ingredients

For 6 people

  • 1/2 cup(s) butter
  • 3 ounce(s) unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cup(s) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 1/8 floz spicy or dark rum
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) Jamaican allspice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup(s) flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 inch square baking pan, greasing only the bottom and leaving the sides ungreased. In a medium saucepan, stir together chocolate and butter over low heat setting until smooth, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar. Whisk in eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt, vanilla and rum; stir only until mixture is smooth and all ingredients are combined. Spread mixture into baking pan. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes or until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan. Watch carefully to prevent over baking or brownies may become dry. Allow cooling before slicing into squares.
Makes 10 servings.
