Russell Brand is not so big in Japan. He may have cleaned up his act over the last few years, but that doesn't mean the crass comedian is done paying for the mistakes of his past. The 35-year-old Get Him To the Greek star was deported from Japan over the weekend. Brand was accompanying wife Katy Perry to a performance, and the couple was looking forward to taking a romantic rendezvous in the foreign country. But upon arriving in Japan, the 35-year-old actor was taken into custody and promptly booted out of the country... for something that happened over a decade ago. Although neither Brand nor Perry specified what Brand was guilty of, the "Teenage Dream" singer expressed her disappointment via Twitter, "So... my husband just got deported from Japan. I am so sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place. Tokyo dreams crushed." She added that just because Japan let her down doesn't mean she's going to let her fans in Japan down. She Tweeted, "But of course I love my Japanese fans and the show must go on, no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnappings! It's not right but it's okay." Meanwhile, Brand handled the situation in true form, joking via Twitter, "Planning escape from Japanese custody. It's bloody hard to dig a tunnel with a chopstick. Stockholm syndrome [is] kicking in. Just asked my guard out for (vegetarian) sushi. He giggled." Brand isn't the first -- or the last -- celebrity to be removed from Japan. Earlier this year, celebutante Paris Hilton was kicked out of the country due to drug charges she faced in the United States.
