Mariah: In the Clear for Beer

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey probably wish the past few days were a Daydream. That's because Child Protective Services stepped in to investigate the new parents before they even brought their twins home from the hospital. The infraction? Drug and alcohol abuse, according to Nick Cannon, who dispelled the rumor for Us Weekly. The America's Got Talent Host told his costar, Piers Morgan, "Child Protective Services actually came to me while I was in the hallway and said that they were here to see me because there had been allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital." It all stemmed from some boozy advice from a nurse. "It all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding," Cannon explained. "I don't know if someone heard that, but then they were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story." But luckily, Child Protective Services wasn't biting. "When I spoke to the person from Child Protection Services, they said, 'This is ridiculous, we're going to make sure this isn't the case,'" Cannon fumed. Sounds like Monroe and Moroccan Cannon's parents could use a stiff drink after their ordeal.
