In one of the seemingly happier stories on the utterly depressing MTV show Teen Mom and its myriad spinoffs, Leah Messer and Corey Simms' storybook wedding is ending in divorce. The 18-year-old mom of twin girls married Corey, 20, in West Virginia back in October. But as they've been hasty in other aspects of their relationship, the union is over. The pair dated for one month, found out they were expecting and split after the girls were born in 2009. They reunited six months later, moved in together a few weeks after that and began planning a wedding. "I didn't want to jump into something else and be like, 'Oh, s**t! What did we do?'" Messer told Us Magazine. "Three years ago, back before I was pregnant, I never thought I'd be married now. I was scared because a lot of people who marry young end up divorcing within a year." Fans of the show can watch all the action go down, including Leah receiving divorce papers, on an upcoming episode.

way to glorify teen pregnancy, these programs make a teen want to go get pregnant so they can become a reality star. Shame on whoever made this program up and certainly wouldn't let my daughter parade around on tv with my grandchild no matter how much it paid. TV will do anything for a quick buck. No one or any therapy or surveys can tell me that teens will end up thinking one pregnancy wouldn't hurt to get on a series the will pay money to flaunt there life and there childs life on tv.

I wish MTV would go back to what was originally supposed to be, Music Television. Teen pregnancy is an epidemic, Pregnancy IS sexually transmitted. Speaking of which. would they knowingly air programs that promote drug abuse, getting herpes, or other deadly diseases? No? then why air this shet.

Hopefully these shows allow teenage girls to see what can happen to your life when you're irresponsible, have a crying baby to feed and you have no life.

It's getting really old that everyone is blaming a TV program for their child getting pregnant. It is not the responsibility of the TV Network to make sure that teens don not have sex and get pregnant. This is where the parent and teen need to take responibility for their own actions. This show is NOT promoting teen pregnancy but is showing how hard it can be. The money these girls are receiving is not enough to raise a child on for the next 18 years, it is just a compensation to them for sharing their experiences so others can learn from their errors. Not one of the girls that are shown on the series ever stated that the pregnancy was planned. All of their pregnancies were due to not using birth control or not using it correctly. That means we need to educate our youth more regarding sex and all the consequences it can have, both mentally and physically.

And to Im2cool, yes there are shows promoting drug abuse etc. Celebrity Rehab is just one that airs. Again they are not saying to go use drugs, but are showing the realities of doing so.

If parents are concerned that their child will run to get pregnant from watching a TV show then they need to monitor what their child is watching and open up the lines of communication.
