Nick Lachey to Become Newlywed Once Again

Sorry, Jessica Simpson. Nick Lachey hasn't just moved on -- he's about to make it official with a trip down the aisle. Just a couple of weeks after the ex-Newlyweds had an uncomfortable encounter at a restaurant, the former 98 Degrees singer popped the question to long-time galpal Vanessa Minnillo. The 29-year-old brunette bombshell was spotted sporting some major bling following Lachey's proposal. According to Usmagazine.com, the 4-karat sparkler is an Asscher-cut diamond surrounded by baguettes from Bader & Garrin. A jewelry expert told the magazine that the ring probably set the one-time boy bander back about $125,000. Lachey Tweeted the news on Friday, writing, "I popped the question on bended knee. I do a lot of squats so my knees are very strong." Of course, no Hollywood engagement would be complete without a statement to the press. Minnillo and Lachey issued the following statement, "We're excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together." Hopefully, they don't make their marriage a reality... show, that is, or Minnillo could end up being just another gal in a line of Mrs. Nick Lacheys. Minnillo and Lachey became an item in 2006, the year after he and Simpson called it quits. They split up last year before getting back together. Simpson meanwhile has been cozying up to football player Eric Johnson. Ironically, the foursome came face to face at an eatery in Hollywood last month. However, Simpson set the record straight to USA Today, saying, "He was at the same restaurant. I didn't speak to him." Lachey obviously shouldn't expect a gift - or even a congrats - from his ex.
