The hit show Glee may not have won many Emmys Sunday night, but the company that produces its soundtrack is the real loser. Sony Music hasn't given royalties to the cast members featured on Glee: The Music -- Journey to Regionals, despite it shooting straight to #1 on the Billboard 200 Chart in June. Mark Salling, whose own record drops in October, said he'd seen "not a dime" from the sales. Salling signed with independent label Pipe Dream to release his album. Cory Monteith, who plays Finn on the show, didn't fare much better. He told Toby Knapp's DC 99.5 show, "I got 400 bucks from it going No. 1. But you know what, that's OK, because if I'm patient, and if this thing does really well, maybe I'll see another 400 bucks." We're sensing some well-deserved sarcasm from the cash cows of the huge hit. Even Matthew Morrison, who portrays the Glee gang's fearless leader, broke ranks and signed a record deal with Mercury Records in January. A source told the New York Post, "Sony should have known better -- they kept their hands on money that could have paid to the cast," our source said. "But by upsetting the biggest talent on TV, the label is cutting its nose off to spite its face. It is myopic, short-term thinking on their part." We're thinking there won't be too many Cheerios over at Sony when they see the profits the other companies reap...
