Jessica Simpson Playing Ball Once Again

After a failed romance with Dallas Cowboys player Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson is switching teams... literally. The buxom blonde is now shacking up with Eric Johnson, who's actually a former player for the San Francisco 49ers. It's obviously a bit a bit of a downgrade when you consider that Romo is still at the top of his game, and Johnson is no longer even in the game. Johnson, who played for the New Orleans Saints, was married until this past February when he and his wife got divorced. This is the first high-profile romance the actress-singer has engaged since her long-term relationship with Romo, unless you count that bizarre "are-they-or-aren't-they" pairing with Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan, which lasted a whole minute. A source told People that Simpson couldn't be in a better place. "She is happy that she found a great guy," the source says. And it doesn't hurt that he's no longer active, so fans can't blame Simpson when their team has an off day. Simpson was often blasted by die-hard Cowboys fans as bad luck. Hopefully, this romance will go into overtime for unlucky-in-love Simpson. Since breaking up with Simpson, Romo has supposedly become super-serious with Chace Crawford's younger sister, Candice. There are even rumors the two are planning to get hitched.
