Nicole Richie's Probation Extended
Despite her transformation from hard-partying heroin addict to model mom of the year, Nicole Richie will spend another year on probation. Although the celebutante hasn't incurred any new charges, she's taken a page out of Lindsay Lohan's book and been kind of slack about attending the mandated alcohol education classes. Richie was put on probation back in 2006 after she was busted driving the wrong way on the Los Angeles freeway. She has since cleaned up her act and become a responsible mother of two who prefers Mommy & Me over the naughty nightlife scene. Joel Madden's partner was supposed to be released from her probation term next month, but she failed to meet the terms of her probation, according to TMZ. However, Richie had been on an approved leave of absence, which she was granted to take care of her children. Now Richie must remain in the system until next March. Should Lionel's daughter complete the classes earlier, the judge agreed to terminate her probation. The program does praise Richie for her efforts, maintaining that "her attitude is excellent." Lohan could obviously learn a few things from her former pal.
